BOYA LAKE TO TESLIN

Boya Lake is now called Ta Ch'il a (with a line over top of the a) Provincial Park. Gotta get the spelling right or someone is going to be offended I'm sure. (So on that note, if your offended, unfriend me.) In future posts, there are spellings this keyboard is not capable of spelling, so I may rely on the english spelling instead of the "Indigenous spelling".

This provincial park is absolutely beautiful and scenic. There are 2 short walking trails with interpretive panels. Easy trails for walking.

 these falls are a short boardwalk in and very nice. Its only a short walk and nice leg stretch.

We only spent 1 night here. Left the next morning for Carcross, Yukon. At the RV/Store/Museum were the cheapest and nicest t-shirt/hoodies we seen. Even cheaper than Kamloops. Actually, there were some things way cheaper than Kamloops. Some of the groceries, included. (just a side note) There were some cool photos of this place but I can't find them...when I do, I will update this site.

  T uktoyaktuk , Northwest Territories Well, hiddy ho its off we go. We left Kamloops May 28/25 for the far north. Tuktoyaktuk is the farthest north you can drive in all of Canada. It is up past the Artic Circle.  Follow the yellow bright road. Leaving home. We are towing a 24' trailer with a slide out. Loaded to the nuts with everything we think we need. Its hot, sunny, and life is an adventure. Hmmm ..wonder what we forgot. We moseyed along until we got to McBride on the Yellowhead Hwy. Set up camp and spent the night. McBride is located in the Robson Valley by the Fraser River. It was established in 1913 as a divisional point on the railroad and was named for the then Premier of BC, Richard McBride. Ginnie & Randy From there we carried on to my brother Pat and sister Ginnie's place on Burns Lake. They live side by side on Burns Lake. Both places are a little piece of heaven. CARCROSS TO ATLIN

Leaving Carcross for Atlin. The Carcross area is full of history and very interesting. I wasn't much on history but this trip has me doing extra research. Hopefully you, the reader are not bored. The scenery 'up here' is incredibly beautiful. Beyond anything I have ever imagined or seen in all my travels including other countries. Canada truly is a beautiful country. I thought Russia was spectacular, but, sorry Russia, we have a bit more beauty. We drove through Tagish, without stopping and crossed this bridge over the Tagish River. On the way to Atlin, we passed Snafu Creek, Snafu Lake and Tarfu Creek. They are named after WWll military slang.  "SNAFU" stands for "Situation Normal, All Fouled Up," while "TARFU" means "Things Are Really Fouled Up" or   Situation  All F*%$#d Up and  Things Are Really F*%$#d Up.   The names were added to the Yukon map in the early 1950s, likely by Canadian army engineers working on the Atlin Road after ...

KITWANGA TO MEZIADAN LAKE

  After leaving Prince Rupert, we headed up the Stewart/Cassiar, hwy 37, continuing our way..to Tuk. We stayed at a campground in Kitwanga and lo and behold, it just happened to be next door to my friend Karen Peters home.  Karen in her new home ..work in progress We spent the night at the campground Kitwanga River RV Campground. Great place if you are ever travelling through. We left the next morning for Meziadan Lake Provincial Park Campground. Its a beautiful place to camp. This momma black bear, had triplets. Now you don't see that every day. Taken through the windshield for obvious reasons.
